The Team
Meg Robinson
Healing Art Journeys was created by Irish artist and writer Meg Robinson in 2002. It was a dream Meg had nurtured for many years.
In 2001 she fell in love with, bought and renovated a small tumbled-down house in Alcázar. It took a year to rebuild, and with much laughter and a few tears (she couldn't speak any Spanish then), it grew and grew. Now a large, beautifully spacious house on three floors, "Healing Art Journeys" welcomes guests from around the world. Meg is completely committed to helping people rediscover their sense of play, adventure and purpose in life.
Her path to Alcázar began in 1996 when, having recovered from a ten year chronic illness (ME) and a string of bereavements through a mix of meditation, Reiki healing, drawing, painting, and creative writing, she closed the successful painting school she had created in Scotland to become a nomadic artist. Her travels over the next five years took her to Alaska, northern Canada, California, New Mexico, Ireland and Spain.
During this time Meg was deeply inspired by two mentors, the French clown/mime artist/dancer Didier Danthois, creator of 'Fool at Heart', with whom she discovered a means of self-expression and self-discovery through clowning, and Gernot Dick, an extraordinary fearless wilderness explorer, teacher, painter and photographer. Gernot, whom she met in northern Canada in 1999, encouraged her to explore her inner and outer wilderness experiences in her paintings, installations, and writing, which led to a major solo art exhibition in Dublin in 2000, and two further exhibitions in Ireland.
In addition to working with retreat guests in Alcázar, Meg publishes her own artwork and travel books, including the acclaimed Drawn by a Star.
Meg also writes a regular blog of the same name, and supports two charities: www.pathoftheheart.org, working with street children in Peru, and www.highmountainaidperu.com, Meg's own charity, supporting indigneous peoples in the high mountains of the Peruvian Andes. 80% of all proceeds from the sale of Meg's art work, books, and retreats goes to funding these two projects.
A full profile of Meg and her work can be read in the Meg Robinson - Nomadic Artist section this site.
Healing Practitioners
In offering these experiential retreats, Meg has assembled a team of wonderful and exceptional healing practitioners. See details of session prices.
Sonaa Digby
Picture Sonaa is a professional massage therapist who has studied and practiced natural healing methods for twenty years. Her interests include homeopathy, herbal medicine, Bach Flower Remedies, Alexander technique and eye sight (with an emphasis on the emotional reasons we restrict our ability to see clearly). Sonaa uses massage as a pathway to connecting on a deep level and can also offer feedback to you after a session.
Her background is in practical nature conservation. After completing a degree in ecology as a mature student she worked as a trainer and facilitator in natural conservation projects. She lives locally with her partner and many animals.
Clare Sasada

She and her chef/artist partner have a guest cottage - www.elnido.co.uk - where they offer luxury peaceful holidays with cordon blue cuisine.
Rebecca Cardy
Picture Creative Dance Teacher /Indian Head Massage. Rebecca runs creative dance workshops in Spain and the UK, gives dance performances, and is trained in Indian Head Massage. She lives in Orgiva and Granada, and rents a delightful wooden cabin next to her Orgiva home, with shared use of her pool - A perfect place for a single person to stay for a week after a retreat. She has also recently completed the Camino, the ancient pilgrim route to Santiago de Compostella.
Romany Buck
Picture For many years a qualified physiotherapist with the NHS in England, Romany offers kinesiology for diagnosis and treatment of emotional imbalances, and a unique form of energetic 'shamanic' healing for past and present life issues. Romany is training to be an inter-faith minister.
Pablo Pérez Méndez
Picture Previously a lawyer in Granada, Pablo lives and works in the mountain village of Bubion, an hour's drive from Alcázar. He uses a Quantum SCIO machine for diagnosis to obtain biofeedback from your body to heal energetic imbalances which can be the root of anything from insomnia, depression, chronic fatigue, allergies, relationship difficulties, as well as past and present life issues. Two people with the same illness will require different (natural) treatments says Pablo. The SCIO machine traces the root cause of any dis-ease. As a gifted healer/intuitive as well, Pablo can give information about your soul's journey.
All Alcázar guests who have had a two hours session with Pablo have come away empowered with helpful, brand new, information no doctor has ever been able to give them. Pablo's treatments are particularly useful for guests coming to make their own retreats in Alcázar.
If you don't speak Spanish you will need a translator, for which there is an additional cost.
