Shamanic Retreats
Access your Higher Wisdom.
God turns you from one feeling to another and teaches you by means of opposites, so that you will have two wings to fly - not one.
... Rumi
The Shamanic Retreat will be of real interest to those wanting to work on a deep soul level to access their higher guidance though a variety of 'shamanic' techniques.
The week is based on the Creativity Retreat, and will involve making some primitive art pieces, including weaving with found objects, drawing, writing or painting on river stones, or making symbolic installations in Nature.
The Storyboarding technique - see below, will kick start the week, and most mornings and some evenings, weather permitting, we will be out in the mountains or down beside the river. In the afternoons you are free to process, and we will end the week with the beautiful Peruvian Despatch Ceremony (Despacho).
Absolutely no previous art experince is needed.
The retreat will also be powerful for people wanting to find new ways to reconnect to their spirituality, their intuitive voice and their creative flow, all of which may have been silenced, shackled, gagged, or locked away for too long.
Meg Robinson is not a shaman, but has been described as an alchemist. She has been taught by and initiated in many shamanic practices in Peru and Bolivia by local shamans.
Shamanic / Creative Practices
This retreat uses many shamanic/creative practices to help people delve deeper into their life's calling, such as:
- Storyboarding - see below
- Meditation
- Divination
- Voice work
- Story telling
- Past life regression
- CCMBA healing
Note: Local Healing Plant Essences may be used, but no consciousness altering herbs.
Storyboarding
Storyboarding is a technique used in all our guided retreats. It is a wonderful way to bypass the critical mind and get to the core of the issues we are facing.
Throughout history during times of change in our lives, people have felt the need to consult an oracle. The I Ching is one of the best known Self Oracles, Runes stones, Osho and Native American Medicine cards are others.
In the Storyboarding process, when cards are chosen in association with a specific question, for example: what is holding me back from doing...? The images often evoke an immediate insight. Sometimes the insight will need further excavation, and this is done by choosing more cards.
We'll use Deborah Koff-Chapin's Soul Cards, Chuck Spezzano, Osho, Aura Soma and Native American cards, and more. Soul Cards on their own, and in combination with other cards, catalyze deeply refreshing and insightful responses and authentic communication.
-Deborah Koff-Chapin.
This process has nothing to do with fortune telling, and everything to do with assisting you to turn your awareness toward your own inner wisdom. It will be helpful to people of all faiths and people of no particular faith. Soulcards are used by therapists, coaches, workshop leaders, spiritual directors, healers, intuitives and in management meetings, hospitals, spiritual retreats and creative writing groups. More information about Soul Cards can be found at Deborah Koff-Chapin's website www.touchdrawing.com. Please also feel free to if you would like more information.
